Merkin Muffley

Merkin Muffley was the President of the United States in the 1964 movie Dr. Strangelove . Muffley's character was played by Peter Sellers, as were those of Group Captain Lionel Mandrake and Dr. Strangelove himself.

Physically, and in demeanor, President Muffley is largely patterned after the 1952 and 1956 Democratic Presidential nominee Adlai Stevenson.
