Robert Sommer is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology Emeritus at the University of California, Davis. He may be best known for his book Personal Space: The Behavioral Basis of Design (1969; ISBN 0-13-657577-3). Sommer's interest in environmental psychology began with his studies under Dr. Humphry Osmond.
