Henry Vaughan (April 17, 1622 − April 28, 1695) was a Welsh metaphysical poet and a Doctor. Vaughan was born to Thomas Vaughan (son of writer and colonial investor William Vaughan) and Denise Morgan in at 'Trenewydd', Newton, in Breconshire, Wales. He spent most of his life in the village of Llansantffraed, near Brecon, where he is also buried. Vaughan had a twin brother, the hermetic philosopher and alchemist Thomas Vaughan.
