So what is going to differentiate businesses? How are these commodities to be designed to deliver value? That means design. That means creativity. That means new ideas. Ideas are going to become more important in business than they have ever been.
The need to be right all the time is the biggest bar to new ideas. It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong than to be always right by having no ideas at all.
We may need to solve problems not by removing the cause but by designing the way forward even if the cause remains in place.
Traditional thinking is all about 'what is;' Future thinking will also need to be about what can be.
